Respect for the Father

Sermon Series:

Respect for the Father

What does it really mean to respect the Father?

In this powerful message, Pastor Detra Carter reminds us that God is not only our Creator, He is our perfect Father. He gives us identity, protects His children, provides for us, and calls us to honor Him with our whole lives. Through Scriptures like Romans 8, Exodus 4, Deuteronomy 10, and Isaiah 43, this sermon challenges us to put away every competing “god” in our lives and return to wholehearted devotion to the Lord.

Pastor Detra shares how respect for God is more than a feeling, it’s a response of obedience, trust, reverence, and surrender. As sons and daughters of God, we are called to live led by the Holy Spirit, speak life, and walk in the identity the Father has given us.

If you’ve been wrestling with fear, distraction, compromise, or uncertainty, this message is a reminder that you belong to God, He loves you deeply, and He is committed to leading you into His promises.

Because we have been adopted into God's family, we are no longer condemned, no longer alone, and forever loved by our Heavenly Father.

We are not transformed by trying harder, but by trusting Christ and walking in the power of His Spirit.

Justification is the beginning, not the finish line. In Romans 6, we discover that following Jesus is a lifelong journey of becoming more like Him. Learn how God’s grace not only forgives our sin, but also empowers us to grow, surrender daily, and walk in the new life He has given us.

Romans 5 reveals that because we have been justified by faith, we now stand in God’s grace and are called to reign in life through Jesus Christ.

The benefits of justification. The benefits of Jesus’ work are compared with the consequences of Adam’s act.

Because Jesus took the judgment our sin deserved, we can receive complete forgiveness and be restored to a right relationship with God through faith in Him.
